It does a fantastic job of simulating the major powers of WW2 while expanding everything in the focus trees and tech trees. I don’t have much experience with it but my current playthrough is using it. However, since you have shown interest, there are two other mods that are really good that also improve the complexity quite a bit while maintaining a WW2 centric focus.įirst being Total war, which is basically BICE lite. To sum it up, if you want to play HOI4 in a much more in depth and detail laden way but don’t want to play War in the East, then this is for you. You can, theoretically, attempt an ahistorical playthrough but BICE is made as a WW2 simulator. This is purely a subjective thing but I thought I’d mention it. It changed combat width (80 down to 75), equipment, basically everything. It’s kind of daunting to really get into. I enjoy it, but here is why a lot of people do not. Basically, it tries to simulate the most important aspect of warfare: logistics. In black ice, think producing uniforms and rations. The best I can put it is, in the base game you can get by for an infantry centric force by producing guns, support, and arty.
It includes new tech trees, focuses, divisions, and more. Hey, saw no one responded to your question so here it goes:īlack Ice is a total conversion mod aimed at simulating World War Two at a much tighter viewpoint than vanilla.
